Microwave: Easy Makhani Fish Curry

My second microwave recipe, a simple and delectable Makhani Fish curry dish that can be prepared  in minutes with the readily available ingredients in your kitchen. This makhani fish curry  is prepared in microwave  and is best served with  rice /pulao/fried rice, goes well with chapatis and parathas too. I have always prepared this dish on stove top, generally it takes around 20 minutes for the entire cooking process, but in microwave I could  complete just in 11 minutes. Generally fresh cream is used to prepare this dish; for a change I tried with milk this time,  I'm so glad it came out really well, could also avoid those extra calories of cream :-) If you are new to cooking fish in microwave, I have provided pictorial steps you might find helpful :-)






Preparation time : 20 minutes
Cooking time : 11 to 12 minutes

Chicken and Scallops Chettinad Masala

Have you tried scallops with chicken ? This recipe idea clicked when I saw these fresh scallops last weekend doing groceries . Chicken with scallops is a great combination and the spices used in the "chettinad masala" brings out the flavors extremely well. If you love scallops and want to try something different, this is THE RECIPE. Next time I'll try the dish just with scallops :-) This is my second chettinad recipe; earlier I have tried     almost a similar dish with Blue Crabs. Also the ingredients I have used in chettinad masala for the Crab Chettinad Masala dish are a bit different from  this one. Do check it out :-)

Guest Post :3 Salmon Recipes in 1


Last weekend I wanted to  try  something very quick and simple  and all  I was left with a 1.5 lb. of Salmon steak. So came up with 3 Quick and Simple recipes with Salmon  flavored with different spices. I made three slices  of the steak; for the first slice I used   seasoned bread crumbs with paprika, the second with sesame seeds and the third steak was flavored with Garam masala and other spices. I did a Guest post of this recipe in Lavanya's space. She has an amazing space with so many versatile recipes. Do check out the recipes in her space !!!Hope you like it :-)

Baked Crab Legs with Corn Fried Rice

I wanted to try a recipe with Crab Leg for quite some time, so last weekend got some Snow Crab Legs. According to WIKI, "the most impressive of the  Snow Crab are their legs which has a small circular groove at its base used  for protection and helps the crab to snap off  it's  leg when held by a predator." The Leg meat is sweet, succulent and very flaky. I wanted to keep this recipe very Quick , so tried a very simple Baked recipe with a fabulous Chinese Chili Garlic Sauce I recently purchased from Asian store.The hot flavors from the sauce compliments the sweetness of the crab leg meat extremely well. I prepared a quick and delicious Corn fried rice  to along with it.




Preparation time for Crab Leg: 1 hour, including the time to thaw
Cooking time :12 to 13 minutes
Serves : 2 to 3



Preparation time for Corn Fried Rice : 7 to 10 minutes
Cooking time : 10 minutes
Serves : 3
