Baked Salmon with Mustard sauce and Onions

Salmon, baked with mustard sauce, fresh cream and onions with a blend of spices, enjoy it anytime as a part of your meal.

Preparation time :40 minutes
Cooking time :40 to 45 minutes
Serves :4

Ingredients :
  • 2  fillets of Salmon Fish 
  • 2 tbsp onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp. Ginger and Garlic paste  
  • 3 tbsp. of mustard sauce ,can use dijon mustard instead
  • ¼ cup of vinegar 
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper 
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • 3 tbsp of heavy cream
  • Salt, to taste


  • Brush salmon pieces with garlic and garlic paste, salt and black pepper, keep aside.
  • Next, in a large bowl add the rest of the ingredients with vinegar and mix well .
  • Slide in the fish fillets ,keep marinated for 30 minutes in refrigerator, turning occasionally.
  • Place the fillets on aluminium foil,cover with marinade and seal .Place sealed salmon fillets on a oven safe dish.
  • Preheat oven at 350 degrees F., bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until easily flaked with fork.
  • Serve on  plate garnished with lemon wedges .Can have as a part of meal with rice or veggies and mashed potato.

  1. I want to try this looks pretty yummy..but don't have salmon and mustard sauce..can i try this with Tilapia fillet ? is there any other alternative for mustard ?

  2. Thanks Geetali...sure ,you can use tilapia instead of salmon;if you don't have mustard in hand,try with celery..chop and make a paste of the same and use it,but do not use the onions and fresh cream as mentioned in the recipe..use a tomato paste instead or anything with a tomato base.
